What is the Myth?
The claim by many supplement companies is that Dr. Oz has endorsed their product. They may make the claim that he has specifically said their acai berry product is the best or they may simply imply that he has endorse their type of product. Regardless of what they claim, they are still using celebrity likeness without consent. You should be wary of trusting your business with a company which is willing to break the law just to increase sales.
What was Really Said?
The truth is, there is actually a Dr. Oz - acai berry connection. In fact, acai berry tops Dr. Oz's checklist for foods that are good for anti-aging. This is because the acai berry contains the highest levels of antioxidants among all fruits. Still, it doesn't justify how some unscrupulous individuals think nothing of using Dr. Oz' name give their brand a boost. While Dr. Oz does believe in what acai berry can do, he does not endorse any specific brand. More importantly, he does not mention of any acai berry diet plan that will help aid in weight loss.
What is Being Done?
While these acai sites making outrageous claims continue to pop up all over the internet and it is difficult to have them shut down or at the very least stop those false ads, Dr. Oz, through the Oprah site, has issued a statement, indicating that he does not recommend any one acai supplement brand. The official statement also discloses that Oprah's legal team is already going after these companies.
One of the key lessons we can pick up from these updates in the acai berry industry is that we should never believe everything that is said. With such a hot product as acai berry, it is expected that many would like to cash in quick on this wonder supplement. But now that you know that there really is no Dr. Oz and acai berry link to a particular brand, do not do business with companies offering such blatantly misleading claims.

My biz partner, Terry Starr, complains about heartburn incessantly! After some preliminary research.. I said "Go for a Walk, Stop eating your Peppermint Gum and Drink Milk!" Working doesn't allow her to leisurely walk, she hates the smell of milk and LOVES to chew peppermint gum. Help her!
