Heartburn is a common annoyance. The busy lifestyle, quick meals, fatty or spicy foods all contribute to the occasional need of a chewable pain reliever. The acceptance of heartburn as an inconvenient, but natural, part of the daily grind can blind you to the warning that a severe heartburn symptom can bring.

Heartburn as a Disorder

Heartburn can be a symptom as well as a disorder. Simple heartburn or GERD can be controlled and dealt with. However, heartburn can signal the presence of a much more serious problem. If it’s heartburn, you will have a burning sensation in the chest usually after eating. There may be a spread of the burning to the throat, sometimes accompanied by a bad taste, difficulty in swallowing, belching, coughing, hoarseness and/or wheezing.

It can become worse by lying down or bending over or by eating. Relief can come from an antacid. While the more severe heartburn symptoms may be mistaken for a heart attack, simple heartburn is usually not made worse by exercise. Sleep disorders are more common today than every before. Many people don't even realize they have a sleep disorder. If you have trouble falling asleep at night or if you wake up numerous times throughout the night, then you might have a sleep disorder. Do your family members comment on how exhausted you look? Or perhaps you get irritated more easily than you should and find that you easily become emotional? All of these factors could indicate that you suffer from a sleep disorder.

Sleep disorders can be identified by paying attention to the problem itself. Some people have trouble falling asleep while others have difficulty waking up in the morning. Others can't seem to stay awake throughout the day. Many people discover that they do odd things while they sleep. Still other people have trouble sleeping because their partner or spouse keeps them up at night.

For those that have no trouble sleeping through the night but do have problems staying awake throughout the day there are other possible causes. One sleep disorder of this type is called narcolepsy and causes a person to fall asleep almost instantly at random times during the day. Other possibilities are obstructive sleep apnea or periodic limb movement disorder. This can also be a result of shift work.

Those with excessive sleep inertia find waking up in the morning very difficult. This could be the result of sleep apnea or delayed sleep phase disorder.

Other people find they do strange things when they are sleeping. This could range from sleep walking. They might wake up in new places or even make a meal while completely asleep. If this describes you then you may suffer from sleep walking, night terrors, or any number of parasomnias.

Some people can't sleep because their partner keeps them up. This might mean that their partner has a snoring problem or perhaps suffers from sleep apnea. Bruxism and restless leg syndrome are other possible culprits.

By identifying the type of sleep problem a person suffers from, it becomes easier to identify one of the many sleep disorders that could be responsible. This makes treatment possible.

Eczema Sarcoidosis

Eczema sarcoidosis is a rash or skin problem caused by sarcoidosis. About twenty to thirty-five percent of the cases of sarcoidosis involve skin symptoms. Another name for eczema sarcoidosis is cutaneous sarcoidosis.

The symptoms of sarcoidosis depend on which parts of the body are being affected by this inflammatory condition. Some common symptoms of sarcoidosis include fever, fatigue, cough, shortness of breath, hair loss, seizures, enlarged lymph glands, nosebleeds, headache, and weight loss. The cause of sarcoidosis is unknown.

Sarcoidosis can cause different types of skin conditions including certain types of eczema. Lupus pernio is one form of eczema sarcoidosis. It causes the development of large purplish lesions on the cheeks, ears, nose, fingers, and toes.

Someone with sarcoidosis may develop skin plaques. These skin plaques appear as circular, thickened areas that may be brown or purplish-red. Sarcoidosis can also cause old scars to become thicker, be itchy, or cause bumps under the skin.

Cutaneous calcification can occur. Cutaneous calcification, also called calcinosis cutis, causes deposits of calcium in the skin. In addition to these rashes caused by sarcoidosis, the skin symptoms from sarcoidosis can resemble other forms of eczema.

Bumps on the skin that may feel sore may form on the shins. These bumps from sarcoidosis are from a condition called erythema nodosum. Erythema nodosum can cause symptoms of arthritis in the wrists, hands, ankles, and elbows.

Nummular eczema, also called discoid eczema, is another form of eczema that may develop due to sarcoidosis. Nummular eczema rashes are round and may be bumpy and blistering or dry and scaly.

Sarcoidosis can trigger erythema multiforme which is a blistering rash. The rash typically spreads for a few days and may last up to three weeks.

Approximately one-third of patients with eczema sarcoidosis do not have sarcoidosis symptoms in other parts of the body. The lungs, eyes, heart, liver, and nervous system may be affected by sarcoidosis. Musculoskeletal systems may also develop.

Many suggest that taking antihistamines, B3 (although many sufferers actually have a B12 deficiency), extra zinc, muscle relaxants, ginkgo biloba may help. Still more advocate acupuncture, magnets, lasers or hypnosis. While it is likely some of the above will work for some, published research suggest none really work for all or work all the time.

Surgery may be considered but only if there is a clear structural reason to account for any ringing in the ear. This is obviously a drastic decision and you will need to speak to your doctors for advice. Again though, surgery does not always work and the ringing in the ear may return with vengeance. So what is the answer?

If you have any ringing in the ear, you are probably in the position of trying as many different approaches as possible, in the hope of finding something that will personally work for you. My advice is stick to the natural approaches first before you start messing with what goes in to your body or surgery.

I was perusing one of those 'Golfing for Women' magazines the other day and started wondering where the women are, who wear the golf apparel modeled in women's golf magazines? I've never seen women, professionals included, who would dress in such expensive and outrageous clothing!

It's so simple to spend tons of money kitting yourself out for the sport of golf. Think about hats, sunglasses, gloves, shirts, shorts, socks, windsheeters and shoes, and it is obvious that the costs add up very quickly, even if you do your shopping at cheap online sales. Then you have to factor in the cost of clubs, balls, bag, cart and fees and you have to play a round of golf really quite frequently to keep the "CPU" (cost per use) down to a tolerable level.

One glossy advert showed a beautiful model in very short shorts (like that's allowed on courses!) that cost nearly $300, a golf shirt at almost $600, a jacket by Ralph Lauren at almost $200 and two-toned Utuser shoes costing $400 plus.

That totals just about $1,500! I know that it would be impossible for me to get the CPU on that outfit down to anywhere near a normal level in my entire golfing life! Please don't misunderstand me - I do love clothes and I do really, really love shoes, but I could never afford, nor even want, golf shoes or pants that cost as much as most people's weekly wages.

OK, you need comfy golf shoes that don't look like something your grandmother would have worn, but you can easily find less expensive and still fashionable shoes.

I have bought several really stylish golf outfits, even though none of them are famous brand names. If I were to add up the cost of all of those articles of clothing, it would not come to the price of a Tse golf shirt. Personally, I would prefer to have several trendy outfits than one that is priced way too much.

If I were to wear a $1,500 set of clothes to play golf in, I would just be too worried about getting it dirty or sweating in it to play a proper game of golf.

One of the most noticeable signs of an eating disorder is the obsession of food or weight in general. If you notice someone who constantly makes remarks about being "fat" or weighs him/her self too often, that person may be struggling with an unhealthy mentality that often leads to or accompanies a physical eating disorder. It can also be evident if the person is extremely strict about what they eat, or goes to extreme measures with food, such as weighing food before consuming it.

Another symptom is the person's bathroom habits. If they disappear into the bathroom directly after food consumption they may be purging their meal. You may hear the water running as a mask for the sound of throwing up. Similarly, if they are just always in the bathroom and seem to have stomach discomfort they may be abusing laxatives.This is known as the bulimia eating disorder.

Yet another symptom of an eating disorder is hidden food or finding a lot of empty food packages that you know no one else consumed. Binge eaters will do it in private and they will eat thousands of calories at a time. They may also hide food or even steal food from others in the house. There is often a great sense of depression associated with a binge. Some people will go so far as to weigh their food before eating it, and then weighing their vomit afterward to determine how much of the food they were able to expel; the goal being to remain the same weight..

You may have a gut feeling that a loved on is suffering with some form of eating disorder, and the chances are that you're right. The best thing you can do is to confront the person with your observations and encourage a truthful response. Be aware that many who suffer from an eating disorder (especially in the cases of teenage eating disorders) will likely lie or make excuses to keep from being found out, so a bit of perseverance may be required on your part.

The infected area should be washed with anti-acne soap at least three or four times a day. Make-up should be strictly avoided when one is suffering from acne. Make-up makes an acne condition worse. The Causes Of Acne Imbalance Of Skin Physiology

Acne is an imbalance of several factors in skin physiology, which are related in the sebaceous gland of the skin. When your body is in perfect harmony small amounts of oil develop and are released on the skin. However, when too much oil is produced in these glands problems occur.

Since the sebaceous gland is deep down in our skin the oil has nowhere to go, which means it just builds up and gets infected with bacteria. This will eventually lead to acne.

A lesser known factor involves the presence of fatty acids. These kinds of acids can be very irritating to the skin and may also affect acne outbreaks.

When acne begins to breakout there are many warning signs. Redness, swelling, and inflammation of the skin will occur. When an actual zit begins to form, the body will try to attack and kill the bacteria inside the zit. This is what causes the formation of a white substance around the top of the pimple. Also, as the pimple grows out from the bacteria inside, it also grows deeper into the skin and even sideways causing swelling around the infected area.

What causes acne? Nobody really has an exact answer for that question, but there are many theories out there. Some people have increased oil production in their cells which eventually leads to acne problems in the future. Others have serious skin bacteria problems that cause the disease. However, the leading cause of acne is genetics.

If acne is in your chromosomes, then there will be a good chance of that chromosome being passed onto you. Surprisingly enough, most people think environmental factors are what produce acne. Well that's just not true. Chocolate has never been found to have any influence on the development of acne in humans and neither has fried food. If its in your genes your probably going to get the skin disease.

Hormones also play a huge part in acne development. Men are more likely to have bigger outbreaks of acne because of the high amounts of excess oil they produce. The teenage years can also be one of the worst times for acne outbreaks. Many young teens are going through puberty and their bodies are producing an excess of everything including skin oil.

In most cases acne will go away on its own, especially if you get the acne when you are a teenager. Most kids go through puberty with acne problems, but once they hit their early 20s the disease subsides and their face clears up. This is not always the case, but it should be noted.

Acne can be treated with modern medicine and acne products these days. However, if none of those tactics work, please see a dermatologist.

Subconscious Mind Power - A Means To An End

Do you remember the movie, "Field of Dreams, with Kevin Costner? In the movie, he hears the mantra, "If you build it, they will come." You may not know it, but you have your own "field of dreams." It's your subconscious mind. With your subconscious mind, if you "think" it, it will come. What will come? Whatever you want, truly.

Your subconscious mind holds the power to make you the person you want to be, create the life you want, and change things as they are to the way you want them to be; all from your subconscious mind. The mind is truly powerful and beautiful. With our subconscious minds, we can heal, transcend, feel good; or feel bad. Each of us has the power to change our worlds through the power of our subconscious minds, if we only choose to take control of them.

If you're skeptical, you're not alone. However, give me a chance to show you with a few examples just how powerful your mind is. One of my favorite examples is actually from the medical field, and works on a scientific basis. It's been documented time and time again, actually, and it's called the "placebo effect." The medical field has coined the term "placebo effect" to denote a specific type of effect. Oftentimes, for example, this term is used during medical trials. The control group is given a "placebo," which is an inert substance that has no medical benefit whatsoever as a drug might give. It's used as a counterpoint to the other group, which gets the actual medication. This is to clearly prove any benefit (or detriment) the drug itself might give. However, both groups are told what the medication is for and what it should do for them, and neither group knows which pill they've gotten; placebo or actual medication.

In absolutely each and every study the control group will provide similar results to the study group. Perhaps not in the same intensity, but you will have people that show improvements or exhibit changes or side effects that the medication can cause. Why is that? It is because they were told what the pill would do, they believed that they were being given the real pill and that they were either going to get better or get the side effects.

Or, let's take another example. Perhaps you've gone to the doctor to get a medication for something that's wrong with you. You may have noticed that although a doctor will tell you what the side effects are, he or she will usually minimize them to at least some extent. That's because it's been shown that patients will often exaggerate the side effects in their own minds (or become the small percentage that actually experiences severe side effects), and actually begin to experience those side effects as a sort of "negative self-fulfilling prophecy." Doctors don't want that to happen, so although they are beholden by law to tell you what side effects are, they don't exaggerate them specifically because they don't want patients to create side effects.

What do these two examples above prove? That the power of suggestion AND the power of the subconscious mind will give you a very powerful results. It works in the medical field, and it can work in your everyday life, too. Why can't you tap into this power and positively change your life? You can, with the power of suggestion; change the way your subconscious mind works by using it to your advantage.

Others though use visualization to alter the way their mind sees things. Visualization is simple, and it works. Visualization can be done a couple of ways. First you close your eyes and visualize what it is you want, actually see it as if you are looking at a picture.

Another way to use your subconscious mind to change your reality is to actually find or create a physical picture. Let's say, for example, that you want a specific kind of new car. Find a picture of that car in a magazine, or better yet, have a friend take a picture of you standing by that car. Hang that picture up where you can see it every day. The more you see it, the more you will imprint that vision of yourself with the car you want in your subconscious mind. And because your subconscious mind is so powerful, it will eventually make that become a reality.

Although this has been common knowledge for years to the really rich and high achievers, it has only been recently that scientists have started to understand the very real scientific process associated with this.

At subatomic levels matter ceases to be 'solid' and is shown to be pure energy. Quantum physics has shown beyond doubt that this energy can be manipulated by the mind. In fact as strange as it seems, quantum physics actually shows that this energy can not exist without the mind of the observer.

So matter/energy only exists because it is being observed; in other words it is the mind which is responsible for the matter existing - not the other way around. All matter and hence all reality has been proven to be a creation of our mind. This is the true meaning of 'subconscious mind power'!

In fact this is what the ancient religions have been saying for many thousands of years and with new understandings in quantum physics, modern science is at last beginning to catch up. Whatever your spiritual belief may be, there is no denying that the science of quantum physics works.

So if you could change your life just by thinking about it, wouldn't you? All you have to do is harness your subconscious mind power. Use it to your advantage instead of letting it control you. Spend the next week using affirmations or visualization techniques to acquire what you want. Make it something small at first and when you see that it works make yourself a new life by developing your subconscious mind power.
